LOVE

An old wise woman once told me that love hides in the hollow places of your soul, releasing its warmth when your heart turns cold, but yet it hides. She said I would have to experience pain, endure some hardships, and stand through some rain, she said I might have to cry for a while, and with my heart torn I would still have to smile. She said I would come across wolves in sheep clothes appearing to be genuine, she said I'd hear my heart echo, and tell me to let go, can't hold on if something's not mines. And last but not least, she left me with this, she said, "your true love is the one that you miss", and with that, she bid me goodbye. I stood there and thought about what she had said as a tear gently rolled from my eye. I have missed you before I even met you, and even when we crossed paths God wouldn’t let you, because you still had seeds to sow, because you still had miles to go.
