"Lies"

One word, then another
Another after the other
It seems as though it’s continuous now
And I’m confused; pondering, wondering how
How this guy I knew I knew

No more sweet words, pleasant and real: Replaced
Now I only hear meaningless, untrue phrases
You can’t even look me in my face
First it started with “I’ll call you right back”
Then it went to “Babe, I was just chillin with Mat”
So I played it off, frontin like I didn’t know
Meanwhile, you chillin, spendin time with that hoe
And it’s cool with me

While you were all caught up, busy telling your lies
I didn’t have to
You didn’t even realize I too was chilin, spendin time with my guy
And I didn’t lie, in fact, the truth was right there
When I put on that red dress, those heels, and hooked up my hair
But you never even questioned
What was I doing nor where was I going
